Just a quick comparison of the reMarkable 2 and the Kindle Scribe. Both shown running the latest software from each company as of the start of July 2023. This is just for the note-taking side of the devices not reading eBooks.
Here are both devices side-by-side. You can see the difference in size/dimensions, and the different stylus they each come with.
Looking at the vastly different writing options available on each device
The biggest difference between the reMarkable 2 and the Kindle Scribe is in the options for page types in a notebook.
The RM2 has four “pages” of page options, while the selection fits on a single panel with the Kindle Scribe.
The Kindle Scribe does have the option to share via email and convert to text, but I couldn’t get a screenshot at the time of writing this as my Verizon FiOS has been down all day and the device wouldn’t let me access that screen without a WiFi connection.
The reMarkable 2 stroke thickness is global, while the Kindle Scribe is under each tool (pen, highlighter etc). Speaking of highlighters, that is something the Kindle Scribe has over the RM2.
There are a few other differences between the reMarkable 2 and Kindle Scribe, such as the processor, RAM, battery size, age of the hardware, and frequency/longevity of software updates. But that is for another time.
